Please see below some testimonials from our students about their favourite clubs!

Nancy – “I like to go to the football club because we play football matches and practise for them. I have also got much better because of them!”

Alex – “I go to the Minecraft coding club because its fun to learn coding whilst also playing with my friends”

Addison – “I go to loads of clubs! Football club because we play matches, Rock Solid because it’s good to learn about new things, Chess club because it’s great to get better!, Badminton as it’s good for exercise, Axolotl club because I love axolotls, Art club because I want to be a better artist and Drama club because I like acting and practising for the Christmas production”

Henry – “I go to the TCG club on Thursdays and it’s really good! The people there are also really funny too. I like to go because everyone expresses their love for Pokémon”

On Monday evening, a group of Year 12 and Year 13 English and Drama students enjoyed a trip to The Globe Theatre in London to see Shakespeare’s play ‘Much Ado About Nothing’.

The production, described by one critic as ‘the Globe at its best’, did not disappoint.  It was energetic, funny and moving, with plenty of interaction between the actors and the audience, especially the ‘groundlings’ in the pit.

Thank you to the Sixth Form students for being such good company; we hope they enjoyed it.

Last Friday, our Year 11 Geographers took the long trip to Stratford (London) to complete their Geography fieldwork. The students were tasked with completing interviews with members of the public about Stratford’s regeneration as well as several environmental quality surveys and field sketches to top off a highly productive day. Students were lucky to enjoy the warm weather and represented the Academy fantastically with some excellent experiences gained, and several were able to overcome their fear of speaking to the members of the public! Students will continue their fieldwork studies by heading to Eastbourne to look at the effects of coastal management.

On Monday evening we exhibited at the Post-16 Market Place at the River Centre in Tonbridge.

This was a great opportunity for prospective students to discover more about our Sixth Form and the facilities we have to offer, especially when we had such a variety of schools attending the event.

It was also a good opportunity for our own students to discover the potential different routes that they can take after GCSE’s, and hear from other education providers in the local area.

Our 2027/2028 Term Dates have now been published on the website.

Unifrog Parental Accounts : We do not create parent accounts directly, but we can make it possible for a parent to create their account themselves:

  1. First, the school adds the parent’s email address to their child’s Unifrog profile, in the dedicated fields for parents/guardians – in most cases this is already complete
  1. Then, the parent can create their account themselves either by using Google SSO on the normal Sign in page, or by using their email address here: http://www.unifrog.org/parent

Once a parent has created their account, from then onwards they can sign in on the normal sign-in page, using either their email and password, or Google SSO (but not Microsoft SSO). Any issues, please do get in contact.

We would like to remind parents that, if you wish to contact a teacher, please email info@skinnerskent.org.uk and include the name of the teacher you wish to contact. Our helpful Admin Team will then ensure your email is passed on to the appropriate member of staff.

We have had an influx of students asking for their timetables to be printed at Reception. Please could we ask that parents ensure their children know their timetable for the day, which is available via MCAS, before they arrive at the Academy. Thank you for your understanding and support.

A limited number of summer dresses are still available to purchase from Monkhouse for students who would like to wear them during Terms 1, 5 and 6.

Please be aware that the Academy has decided not to continue with the summer dress as part of the uniform going forward, and Monkhouse will therefore not be ordering any further stock.

We are delighted to inform you that our Year 11 Parent Review Meeting will take place on Wednesday 14 October from 3.30pm to 7pm.

All appointments are made via MCAS (My Child at School) app, using the Parents’ Evening ‘tile’. The booking system will close at 12 noon on the day of the event.

Take on the Autumn Reading Challenge and earn House Points; open to all Students, Parents and Staff – who in your household can raise the most House Points? Students – challenge your family to take part too to earn House Points for you!
